Only one more week until our spring Event Camp! We hope for good weather and a fun weekend for all of you! I just want to pass along some information that will be helpful for the weekend:
Check-in will be at 3:00 Friday. Please don’t come early, as the stalls will not be ready and assigned until then.
Initial shavings will be provided, but you may bring extra — stalls must be stripped and swept on Sunday before leaving. I will need a stall deposit check from everyone, so if you haven’t sent me one, we will collect one at check-in when you sign your releases and pick up your packets.
Sunday we will hold a Combined Test Competition after lunch. All of you will ride Beginner Novice Test A (copy attached), so please learn it, as it cannot be read to you!
If you need a camper hookup or place to stay, please let me know and we can arrange accommodations for you if we haven’t already.
Friday night we will have a welcome pizza party. If you will be arriving later than 6:00 p.m., let me know, so The Oaks will be aware that you’ll be coming in after dark.
Directions to The Oaks:
I-75 North to Exit 414 (Hwy 41/441) Lake City/High Springs.
Turn right at end of exit ramp. Head north on Hwy 441 for four miles.
At flashing caution light at SR 240, turn left. (There is a convenience store /Marathon gas station and Nettles Sausage Co. on the corner)
Continue on 240 over the I-75 overpass to 4-way stop at Tustenugee Rd. (a couple miles)
Turn left on Tustenugee Rd. Go one mile. Entrance to The Oaks is on your right. Follow road past the cross-country course to the main gate to the barn. The gate can be manually pushed open. Unload your trailers by the barn when you find your stall, and then park behind the round pen, which is straight ahead. Camping spots are off to the right near the shavings/shop building.
