Hi Everyone,
I want to thank everyone who came to the awards luncheon last weekend — it was a big success with a record 115 people attending! I hope all of you had a great time, and enjoyed hearing Richard Trayford’s entertaining talk about the 3* event at the Ocala Jockey Club as well as his schooling events at Exmoor this fall.
Our Event-Free Raffle and silent auction were huge successes – we made over $8000 !! That will buy some pretty nice prizes for next year!
With Area III hosting the Annual USEA Meeting this year in Ft. Lauderdale, we hope a lot of our members will be attending. We are hoping to have an FHTA reception there to welcome attendees with a “meet-and-greet”. We are currently working out the details with USEA to hopefully make this happen.
Congratulations to Chris Aytug for winning the Susan Neubauer Memorial Award (for all her hard work during the year and organizing the silent auction) , and to Mary Smith and Cynthia Christen of Tallahassee for winning the Alicia Wishard Memorial Trophy (for all their help every year at event camp).
If you’d like to see pictures from the luncheon, go to Michael Bradtke Photography’s website. Pictures are available for purchase from Michael as well.
Thanks to our sponsors – we couldn’t do this without you! Longwood Arenas, Horse Shows in the Park, Rocking Horse Stables, Partners of the Park, Equiventures, County Saddlery, and Custom Saddlery.
If you were not at the luncheon to renew your 2016-2017 membership, don’t forget our new year has begun, so you can go to our website and download a membership form to send in. Keep those qualifying scores coming in! We will be working on a new database in the next couple months, which will make it easier for you to view your scores during the year. (our current database is old and outdated, and has been needing a facelift for awhile!)
It’s almost fall, and the weekends will be full of events to attend — with so many venues statewide, it’s nice to be able to pick and choose!
Congratulations to all our High Score and Title winners this year! Good luck this year – and Go Eventing!
